London is split into Zones. Zone 1 in the centre and Zone 6 on the outskirts. The more zones you need to travel through (depending on age, time of the day) your ticket may be more expensive. If you are in London, you can get an OYSTER CARD and you can PUT MONEY ON IT rather than having to buy a ticket every day. If you're in London for one day, then you can buy a ONE DAY TRAVEL CARD and you can select which zones you are in. When i am home in London, I stay in Zone 2. So i buy a ONE DAY TRAVEL CARD FOR ZONE 1+2 only.
.... the Moscow metro is much easier!
